This review does not reflect the game play. I placed it on Pre-order because of the Wired Mag story I read about the movie and this games creation. I purchase every title I own, however I still play games that are now long since not supported. COD2, CODUO, Novalogic Multi-role Fighter F-16, Novalogic Mig29, Novalogic F22 Lightning 3, Postal, Doom3, UT2003 and 2007. AVP Gold. Black Hawk Down. These are older games and many are not supported anymore exepcially the Novalogic games. Since many of these games came out I have updated my system from P3’s, to P4’s

to AMD Athlon, to AMD Athlon Dual core, then Dual core 2, and video cards from Creative Annilator 256 $429. TO Geforce MX200, 400, Geforce 6300, 7800, 8600, 9800GTX+, 260. Guess what??? If these games had DRM, I would no longer be able to play any of them. So this goes back, unopened.

When are they going to learn. The same was true of Crysis Warfare, and so many other awesome games that they lost tens of thousands of sales.

I have two son’s. They is 3 legal copies of each of these games I will not buy. Oh, I want to check the game out, so I will wait until the cracked version comes out tomorrow, check it out, then uninstall it from a test system I can restore the harddisk from image so to not risk

a virus. Something I would NEVER do if I owned 3 copies purchased from Amazon….

The irony here is that the Pirates are not paying and they are playing. We want to pay for legit copies, and we are left out.

If they think that the console games are not crackable, man they really just are losers. These must be the same guys that

said VCR’s would put Movie theaters out of business. They said the same about CD”s. Now they say it with online music. Itunes seems

to be making artists a lot of money. In fact, many artists skip going with a label and produce the album themselves and sell it on Itunes.

(They should have thought of that… Who needs a record label????) If you have a PC, M-Audio interfaces, or even buy a $400 16 channel mixer, and mic’s, either way, you can produce your own albums, sell them, and screw the company.

It was nice seeing some new movies being released to FIOS on-demand before it even came out in the theaters! Smart!

People who like the theater experience will buy it and see it on PPV, then go see it in the theater. These are the

guys earning the big bonuses. Losers, with MBA’s from Harvard, Princeton.

They make movies about a kid running a toy company R&D department. Well there is some truth in that

and some reality that needs to go in. But my God, these morons are killing their own game sales!

Our 11 year old is sooooo addicted to this game and he loves the ability to switch between characters! We both think the animation and cgi are impressive for the price of the game. Although other reviewers have said that a manual must be used, our son discovered he does not need a manual to find even the most difficult items-places-forums in order to carry on a campaign. Must have something to do with the thumb dexterity and age, huh??

Ok, so I’m not some super gaming dude who knows all the best and worst stuff and makes it his business to do so. I’m just someone who really enjoyed the movie and on the back of that I bought the game (console version). I was a bit daunted about writing this review, because I can’t give all the techhie info, but then I thought someone might appreciate a comment from the man on the street. so I just wanted to say that I love it. Thank you.

I enjoyed this game a lot.

It has built in stereoscopic 3d support. I didn’t know that from the start, I tried using iz3d and it crashed, when I disabled iz3d I discovered in the menus that it had built in support for stereo 3d. I couldn’t believe it! I’ve never seen a game with built in support for it, and not only that but it supports my DLP 3D Ready TV!

The graphics in stereo 3d are amazing. I beat the game in stereo3d and I tried to play with out it and at first I felt like I was playing with one eye and when I got used to it the graphics didn’t look as good, it’s hard to make things out in the jungle. Stereo3D really makes the game look better and some what easier as you can see things better. The only strange thing is that the characters and vehicles look like toys instead of looking life size.

The story takes place before the Avatar movie (in the RDA campaign you even run into some of the movie characters), but the story feels kind of out of place, it almost feels like a looser version of the movie. There are 2 main paths you can take in the story, the Navi path and the RDA path. The Navi path seems easier to me then the RDA one, simply because you can easily kills things with melee attacks. Either way I’d recommend playing both.

It has a mini strategy game called conquest that is unlocked when you choose your path. The mini game is simple but not bad. It gives you xp and extra health and damage bonuses in the simple player game, though I don’t think I felt a real impact on it.

The game mechanics at times felt incomplete. Like there is more they could have done. For example I wish I could do more from mounts, like having an attack from dire horses and banshees, amp suits with a melee attack, control the aim of the guns on the gunship, being able to look down from the gunship when landing, etc.

The enemy conversations also seemed broken and can confuse you. Sometimes you will hear 2 enemies talking to each other but there is only ever really 1 of them, so you kill the one and search around to find no one else.

But the only thing that really got me was a jump bug, it seems if you are running down a sloped surface that your avatar will lose contact with the ground and if you press jump at that time your avatar will ignore that command and simple fall to his death.

In the end it was still a great gaming experience, even more so if you are an Avatar fan and can play in stereoscopic 3d!

I hope Ubisoft starts putting stereoscopic 3d support in all their games.

This game’s highlight is the graphics, they are awesome! The online play has 5 modes, capture the flag, king of the hill, capture and hold, destroy or protect the base, and deathmatch. Some of these modes have a time limit of 10 minutes. The campaign (offline) takes about 25 hours to complete playing as Na’vi or RDA with up to 2 chances to switch allegiance. There is a secondary game within the campaign that can enhance it by giving better health and destructive powers.

Overall I think it is a good game but wish the online play was longer so as to allow for team planning. As it is now, it is every man for himself. If the game had voice communication it would be great.
