God of War ist ein Action-Adventure aus dem Hause Santa Monica Studio. Darin spielt man den Anti-Helden Kratos, welcher sich als “Geist Spartas” einen Namen gemacht hat. Von seinen Alpträumen geplagt, will er sich auf machen, den Kriegsgott Ares zu töten, welcher der Grund für seine Alpträume ist. Viele im Spiel vorkommende Charaktere kennt man schon aus griechischen Mythen.
