the point of BOTH crackdowns was to blow shit up, run around, and kill everyone XD …they never realy cared about the story. they brought us something alot of us realy wanted: a game based off of mayhem without a storyline to get in the way. you know what i did? I got the game, beat it, than started a new campaign with the same maxed out agent but DIDNT do the story. the game is more fun without the lack of freaks and cell everywhere. and THATS what Ruffian intended when they made Crackdown 2.

Why fix what isn’t broken? Seriously, if the first one’s gameplay was fun, then why make a dramatic change for the sequel. This brings me to my second point: Why is every review complaining about how the gameplay is mostly the same? Play the whole CoD series, and tell me, has the gameplay changed? Yet, CoD still get amazing scores.

I like the game because it’s simple. Upgrade, blow shit up, and have fun. If a player wants story find a different game or read a book.

from what i’ve been hearing about this game i think ill go pick myself up a copy of red dead redemption instead

I think this is the first game ever that really deserves the “2″ in the name, becouse: It’s the first game that is more or less exactly like the first one! Every other sequal of games use different stories and stuff, new locations, improved gameplay etc. so basicly they made a whole new game. Crackdown 2 is mor like: Oh look its still crackdown
So to all of you: WHO CARES? love it or hate it but don’t make it look bad, becouse it’s awesome!!

Wow all these fanboys…
I can see how crackdown 2 would become stale after a while… Who wants to collect little orbs around the city to complete the game?… And a game DOES need a story… if you’re a gamer for a while you would know that a game with excellent story ALWAYS succeeds. Things like Bioshock, Assassins Creed, and other older games that I cant think of…
To make a good game, make a great singleplayer story, or a great multiplayer. This game has neither.

7/10?!?!?!?!??!?!?! because you want a freaking story? u cant go into everygame with the same expectations. if u went into call of duty looking for a realistic experience you would be pissed. so dont go into crackdown, a game where the whole point is blowing up freaks, for a amazing story. it doesnt work like that. it is one of the games where u start it up and turn your brain off for an hour or 3 while you play it. it deserves a 9.5/10/

It’s generally accepted by fans of Mario to have a weak story. It’s always been Save the Damsel in distress. Nintendo will not stray away from this as their fans have come to accept it and still purchase their games.
Crackdown is a different story. It does not have the backing the Nintendo has with it’s Mario franchise, it needs the story to be good if it’s going to attempt one.
It’s a double standard yes, but Nintendo has doing Mario for 20+ years, they have the backing.

@Ultrazatch44
“A weak story should be factored in the score if it’s apart of the game”
but going back to my original argument why isn’t it factored into the score of mario galaxy 2?
July 15, 2010
@HumanFly73 Thank you for saying the RIGHT thing
July 15, 2010
@imbadatnames390
Well, the score reduction wasn’t based solely on the fact that the story was weak, he also said the missions get stale due to lack of variety. Plus, a weak story should be factored in the score if it’s apart of the game.
July 15, 2010
The graphics don’t have to be realistic to be good.
July 15, 2010
@Ultrazatch44
It’s the same case with crackdown 2,it’s the gameplay elements that matter,he shouldn’t spend so long talking about the story and just get to the good part
July 15, 2010
@imbadatnames390
Mario has made his home in having a generic story, it’s the gameplay elements that matter. Everyone is fine with Defeat Bowser, Rescue damsel in distress. Plus, Mario doesn’t talk, so having a story is difficult. Also, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is sexy.
July 15, 2010
You take away points for this game for its story yet you give mario galaxy 2 a 10/10 which has the most generic,stupid and predictable story ever told..

is this game worth getting? it looks like something i’d enjoy but will it keep me occupied for a long time? ( my friends have this game ).

@sithsaber5 Each to his own mate, but remember stories came later on in video game history, so did online multiplayer. If a game can be entertaining without needing those extras to dress it up, then it’s a pure winner in my book & will have far more life. CD2 has a lot more going on than an fps. Although I’m a big Halo fan, I have to point out that MW1 & 2 are just clunky & mindless imo. If you want stories then maybe play an rpg like Mass Effect. Opinions are like assholes, everyones got one…
July 15, 2010
@HumanFly73 story matters and this game has no multiplayer status games like mw2 and halo can pull off a terrible story cause they have great multiplayer
games like assasins creed dosnt have multiplayer but excels in story and this is in the middle and the first game was allot better and this game does rock allot but i like story its my thing
July 15, 2010
more variety he says everythings the same yea right first au zombies second super zombies third super super zombies 4th holy shit……. variety my ass
July 15, 2010
@jankins121 sorry but no, there is no splitscreen, even though it would of made the game AMAZING!! (at least to where me and my bro could play it)
July 15, 2010
I dont think previous games of the title should be considered when rating a game so this review was flawed and Graphics shouldnt really count unless they are really bad. Crackdown 2 graphics are meant to be like that and i like it that way. This was a pretty shitty review
July 15, 2010
is there split screen ?????
July 15, 2010
i was gettin a little mad at him because all he talked about wa *if youve played it before, youll be dissapointed if uve played it before and so on ive never heard of crackdown but i got it anyway and loved it
