I doubt it.
Because the PS2 is Newer than the PS1.
So Sony will not of made them so you can play on a PS1, because they wouldnt want to lose money.
(EG: people buying a PS1 instead of PS2)

It’s called reverse compatiblity which means newer games don’t work on older consoles.
For example, the Nintendo DS, Gameboy Advance, Playstation 2, PS3, Xbox 360, etc. all have reverse compatibility… meaning if you have a PS2, you can play PS1 games. If you have a PS3, you can play PS2 and PS1 games.
So if you have a PS1, there is no reverse compatibility because that console is the first in the series. Meaning it will neither play PS2 games nor PS3 games.
The Nintendo DS and GBA are only reverse compatible to 1 degree. Meaning If you have DS you can only go back to GBA. and If you have a GBA it will go back to regular Gameboy.

The discs may look the same, but there is a world of difference between the machines they are programed to run on.
If the PS2 were an iPhone, the PS1 would be Zack Morris’s cell phone from Saved by the Bell.
