i don't know if you have to have an expansion pack or not, but if you go to my computer and you go into your sims 2 file
there should be a music folder,
from there
you should be able to just drag and drop your music into those files.

go to documents, ea games, sims 2, then into music. you will see a series of files with music genres choose the file of your choice then take the music you want and copy and paste it into the file you choose. then while playing the game turn on the radio and pick the file you put it under.

He is right you can add your own music by just placing your music in the music folder. But here's another tip. In order so you don't have to have your sims stand there hitting next song. Go to the game graphic page and uncheck the boxes to stop the playback of the orginal music.

dont listen to some of the other answers here because it actually is possible.

what you have to do is go to mydocuments/eagames/sims2/music

once you are in your sims 2 music folder, you will see all differant genres of music in your sims 2 game. open one of the genre folders and drag your .mp3 music file into that folder.

now when your sims turn on the radio to that specific genre (or channel) your music will come out of the radio and play in your game.

(you may need to have your sims keep going to the "next song" for your song to play)

Ever since The Sims 2 FreeTime expansion pack (sadly you'll need to buy it...), there's a little button for making your own radio stations. The manual has directions for how exactly to add music to custom radio stations...
