If you have a surround sound system and want the best quality for a fraction of the cost get this dongle! This also comes with an HDMI cable which I already have enough of but even for the price of what this is I would pay for it just for the dongle! I was so tempted to go out and buy the Microsoft bundle because I wanted my sound ASAP as I was using a headphone jack to audio to my surround sound system. Note that you will need this if you want the best in digital audio as the connection that comes with the Xbox 360 blocks the HDMI port so you can’t use both HDMI and optical/analog outputs at the same time… With this dongle you can! 5 out of 5 stars… Gotta run! I hear footsteps behind me in Call of Duty:MW2 due to this great buy!

If your having problems not receiving Dolby Digital signal from your TV to your receiver, its best to connect the XBOX directly to your receiver. Works wonderful and it allowed me to receive Dolby Digital signal directly, without having to go through the TV, given that the xbox only allows the DVI to output with the stock connections.
Great product. Pretty basic. Buy it if your not receiving the DD from the DVI through TV connection.

Bought the item for about 1/4 the price of the Microsoft brand. Item works as described. Also bought a cheaper ($4.00) HDMI cable and ($4.00)optical audio cable and have no complaints w/ any of the items. Don’t spend the big money on an official Microsoft Item or Monster cable when these items do the job.

This adapter and cable is exactly as promised and works tremendously. It works so good, I may never get the use of the TV back from my son and his Xbox. It arrived quicker than expected, is extremely high quality and one of the best values I’ve purchased.
