What games can be played on Playstation 3?

no playstation 2 games can’t be played on ps3, wii has more games, but ps3 has some that wii doesnt have. you can get lego indiana jones, lego star wars, guitar hero, singstar, the usual car racing and war games. PS3 is still pretty new so the games have been comming out slowly, and personally i like the PS3 better than the Wii console

Yes it can on the 80 or the 160 gb. but not all games will play. i really should suggest you buying a Playstation 3 for your son. he would really like it for the graphics and the onlineing and active interfaces.

First off, I think your son will highly enjoy the PS3 system, because I know I sure have. The answer to your question is some. The first models of the PS3s that first came out were the 20 and 60gb versions, they are now discontinued but they both come with backwards compatibility to play PS1 and PS2 games. If you can find a 60gb PS3 that is in good shape, it is a good purchase, they are the best PS3’s to date. The 20gb PS3 is highly unrecommended as it has very little space and would run out in the future. Then there was the 40gb version that came out along with the 80gb version to replace the older two models, the 40gb version only offered backwards compatibility for SOME PS1 games, but no PS2 games, and the 80gb version offered compatibility for PS1 and PS2 games, both consoles are discontinued. Now there is only an 80gb version that offers no backwards compatibility except for the PS1. The limited 160gb version is the same. Just look at it this way, if the console has 4 USB Ports, it is backwards compatible for PS2 games; that is no joke either. If you want to see it in writing, it says on the box on the side and back.
